MCDONOUGH —With the help of McDonough-based Golfing For Success, Henry County High’s Brandon Brown has signed a golf scholarship from Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon.

Before the start of his senior year, Brown worked with Golfing For Success founder Tyrone Spaulding to improve his game. Spaulding developed a plan for Brown, focused on the fundamentals of his swing.

After a productive senior season, Brewton Parker offered Brown a full scholarship last month. He recently competed in the Annual Bill Dickey Minority Youth Golf Invitational Pro-Am held in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Golfing For Success aims to “involve children and their families with a program that teaches fundamental golf, academic and social skills that will provide them with recreational, physical and fundamental activities to help develop progressive family values; give participants an opportunity to experience creative methods of accumulating awareness of a health and wellness lifestyle that will enhance the mind, body and spirit, therefore, providing positive youth development, mentorship and adult skill training to establish success in the area of golf, health and life.”

The organization has helped student-athletes from MLK High School and Dutchtown High School earn golf scholarships.
