NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF THE GFS, INC. PROGRAM
The intention of this non-profit corporation is to educate the community on best practices to keep the quality of life of our youth and families from deteriorating any further and to improve the quality of their life.
The economic condition and job market of the country have been identified as ‘impairing the “Quality of Life “for many residents of the community. The funding for programs to address some of the basic issues will come from grants, donations from corporations and sponsorships from other interested parties. We plan to hold educational meetings for the residents of the community on things that we are currently doing to encourage them to change their situation. We also plan to generate educational material and distribute to program participants and other throughout the community to gain support for this cause.
Occasionally, we will attend local and national meetings, to discuss and learn of current solutions others are identifying to increase the housing, health, educational, and economic conditions of the low income families and individuals. We will conduct research, studies, and analysis relating to environmental health, educational, and youth and adult behavioral issues. With the aim of seeking ways that are culturally and demographically appropriate, we will focus on self-discipline solutions to our current problems and safe alternatives to solving threats to our quality of life. We will develop community-based solutions and proposals to address problems including, but not limited to, environmental, physical education/recreation, health, educational, and economics. The research, education, and outreach activities will be aimed towards promoting prevention and changes in behavior that would assist in reducing or eliminating abject poverty and deprivation.
Our non-profit organization will concentrate its educational and outreach activities in youth and families most directly affected by hardship brought on by destitution, with an emphasis on low- and middle-income, multicultural, and poor communities. Our partnering efforts and resource sharing will be directed toward grassroots organizations that work principally with these youth and families. However, our non-profit organization will address youth and adults that just want to improve their “Quality of Life” through our mentoring and exposure program, as well as, advance golf training.
